RESFEST|10 Events Kicking Off in Tokyo, Montreal, Cape Town, Vienna
Nov.22.2006 While Americans are sliding gleaming turkeys (or tofurkeys, if that's your bag) out of their ovens, RESFEST|10 events continue kicking off in various countries all over the globe.

RESFEST Tokyo gets started on Wednesday night. The first and largest of five Japanese RESFEST events, Tokyo will feature all of this year's programming, plus several Asian local mix programs and a variety of talks and workshops. View RESFEST Japan's site, with scheduling and information for Tokyo as well as Sendai, Kyoto, Kobe, and Fukuoka at www.resfest.jp.

And on Thursday, RESFEST Canada moves from its successful kickoff event last weekend in Vancouver to Montreal, where the opening night program will include State of the Art and Videos that Rock, plus a screening of the compilations of erotic art films, Destricted, and a party sponsored by Nike. In addition to full RESFEST|10 programming, watch out for a special event featuring turntablist extraordinaire Kid Koala, the controversial Vice Guide to Travel, and a pair of Canadian mix programs, CanCon and Quebec Gold. Get all the details on the RESFEST Canada site at www.resfest.ca.

Next week, the festival hits Cape Town, South Africa beginning Wednesday night with a screening of Shorts One: State of the Art, which will include a presentation by local heroes The Black Heart Gang, who emerged onto the international stage this year with the elegant, baroque animation The Tale of How. The full slate of tenth anniversary programming will follow over the remainder of the weekend. Get the full schedule here.

Also next week, RESFEST heads to Vienna, Austria beginning Thursday, for a five-day engagement that will feature a dazzling array of local work in addition to this year's core programs, as well as a series of special director presentations and lounge exhibit. We hope to see you at one of our events around the globe, and be sure to pass the word along to your friends in other cities.
